animatics: Storyboards in Motion
fall 2013-spring 2014
The animatic comparison for my Thesis film Flight. This film has an experimental approach to it, in that it is supposed to resemble an animated color script. I worked with pans to act as if the viewer was reading a book. I made this film in a year and made changes up the the very end. The most significant change was made in the strip movement. Instead of going in and out, I switched to up and over. This saved time and doesn't take the viewer out of the story as much.
This compares the animatic and final version of my 20 week experimental narrative animation made my junior year at RIT. This was my third time making an animatic. Here the images are very rough but the point still comes across. The experimental part does not come across as well but when seen in the final film it makes more sense. The biggest difference between the two is that the animatic does not have the hold for the title.
Friendship is...eliminating the competition
This is the animatic to the first film of the Friendship Is... series. It uses the rough images from the thumbnails on the Thumbnails and Beat Boards page. Created for a class called Targeting the Audience, this film will appear on a new Youtube channel. This film is targeted toward [adult swim].
time will tell animatic
This is the animatic to my ten week film. It was my first film made my sophomore year at RIT in Spring 2012. This is my second time making an animatic and I was starting to get a better feel of the whole process. It is not as developed as the first because I was focusing on all of the aspects instead of just the animatic.
the passageway animatic
This is my first animatic made my sophmore year at RIT in Fall 2011. The class was focused purely on preproduction so it is fully developed with sound and dialogue.
